Alexander's Music Box - Blues Oasis in Downtown Killeen

Alexander's Music Box is a dedicated blues and R&B music venue located at 313 North 8th Street in downtown Killeen. This 18+ establishment opened in 2024 and is the culmination of owner Jessica Gonzalez's dream to honor the memory of her father Alexander Hollmon who had a deep love for blues music. A painted portrait of Alexander hangs above the bar as a tribute.

Music Programming

The venue features three distinct evenings of programming. Thursdays from 4pm to midnight showcase community engagement with picking circles jam sessions and karaoke. Fridays from 4pm to 1am feature karaoke DJ performances and open mic jam sessions where musicians collaborate spontaneously. Saturdays from 4pm to 1am feature live performances from established and emerging blues artists.

Cultural Significance

The venue honors deep roots in blues tradition. Alexander Hollmon was a native of New Orleans and Vietnam Veteran who grew up during the golden era of blues music. His cousin was Leonard Lee of Shirley and Lee known as the Sweethearts of the Blues. The venue celebrates this heritage and creates unforgettable nights of blues music where patrons leave with deep appreciation for this timeless art form.
