Overview
The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is a unique 46-room boutique hotel that has been serving the Colorado Springs area since 1919 when it first opened as a hunting lodge. Located at 2 El Paso Blvd at the gateway between Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs the lodge seamlessly blends outdoor recreation cycling culture and live music into a distinctive hospitality experience.
Music Programming
The Buffalo Lodge features live music five nights a week Wednesday through Sunday with a focus on folk Americana and bluegrass. The Black Rose Acoustic Society hosts Open Mic nights on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:40 PM followed by an open jam until 9:00 PM. Performers can register starting at 5:30 PM for a 3-song set on a first-come first-served basis. Sunday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM feature the Colorado Springs Pickers Bluegrass Jam hosted by Joy Maples. The venue also presents Unplugged at the Lodge and various live concerts throughout the week.
Annual Events
The lodge hosts the BuffaloGrass Music Festival each October a three-day celebration of bluegrass and acoustic music featuring 16 bands across two stages. The festival includes daily picking circles and jam sessions yoga Aqua Zumba group bike rides How to Jam classes and local food trucks. The intimate setting provides excellent acoustics and a family-friendly environment that has made it a favorite among musicians and fans alike.
Amenities
As a bicycle resort the lodge offers a fleet of bikes for overnight guests and each ground-level room has a bicycle rack. The property is located near numerous trails making it perfect for cycling enthusiasts. However guests dont need to be bicyclists to enjoy the lodge. The Watering Hole bar features Happy Hour from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Limited parking is available at the back of the property. The lodge welcomes both overnight guests and local visitors to enjoy the music and atmosphere.
