Historic Music Venue and Cultural Center
The Louisiana Grandstand is housed in the historic Woman's Department Club building erected in 1925 as a clubhouse for prominent ladies in the community. This beautiful restored historic landmark known as the Lady on Line is located at the corner of Line Avenue and Margaret Place in the Highland/Stoner area just south of downtown.
Venue Spaces and Capacity
Louisiana Grandstand operates two intimate music spaces: the Legendary Listening Room with 400 capacity and The Listening Lounge with 75 capacity. Both spaces are designed for acoustics-first intimate performances. The theaters feature some of the best headlining shows in the region and are considered among the oldest continuously operating theaters in Northwest Louisiana alongside the famous Strand Theater downtown.
Performance Style and Programming
Louisiana Grandstand has earned a reputation for fostering American Roots music and local artist development. The venue hosts a diverse range of touring artists while requiring that major bookings include local Shreveport musicians as show openers. Each event emphasizes storytelling songwriting and live musicianship in an up-close personal theater environment. Many shows include video presentations to enhance the visual experience.

The venue partners with the Woman's Department Club and has been actively restored since 2020 with roof replacement and cosmetic repairs. Louisiana Grandstand provides local musicians with studio time and production resources through its onsite recording studio. The Artist Ambassador Program pairs established mentors with emerging local artists. The venue's mission echoes the legendary Louisiana Hayride which launched careers of Elvis Presley Hank Williams Johnny Cash and many other music icons.
