Brighton's Authentic Irish Pub

Irish Village has been a Brighton landmark since 1970 offering genuine Irish hospitality and perfect pints in a welcoming neighborhood setting. For over 50 years this pub has maintained the warmth and character that make it a favorite among locals while welcoming visitors to experience authentic Irish pub culture.

History and Ownership

Originally opened by Galway native Peter Lee the pub was created to give Irish immigrants a taste of home in Boston. The welcoming atmosphere quickly attracted neighbors of all backgrounds turning Irish Village into a true community gathering place. Today longtime general manager Kieran Hammer leads the team with pride in continuing the tradition of hospitality and perfectly-poured Guinness.

Live Music and Entertainment

The venue features live music every Friday and Saturday night showcasing local and regional talent. Wednesday nights bring open mic hosted by Jimmy Kelly welcoming musicians poets and performers from 8pm to 11:30pm. The pub provides a small drumset guitar keyboard and mics making it easy for musicians to participate. Additional weekly events include trivia on Tuesdays and karaoke on Thursdays.

The Back Room

Recently renovated the back room provides an ideal space for performances and events. This addition has expanded the venue's capacity to host various entertainment formats while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. The space works equally well for attentive listening or social gatherings creating flexibility for different types of events.

Food and Drink

While the focus is on beverages Irish Village has added delicious toastie sandwiches - grilled cheese on multigrain bread with optional ham and mustard - that pair perfectly with the beer selection. The bar is known throughout Boston for expertly-poured Guinness and maintains a quality selection of beers on tap plus full bar service. Patrons are welcome to bring in outside food when the kitchen is not operating.
