About Black Rose Acoustic Society
For over 30 years the Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. The organization hosts twice-monthly concerts at the Black Forest Community Center on second and fourth Fridays along with numerous jam sessions throughout the month.
Jam Sessions
The Black Rose offers multiple jam sessions in various genres. Festival Bluegrass Jams are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at Beth-el Mennonite Church from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM emphasizing festival jam etiquette where musicians look at each other not at paper. Other jams include Beginning and Intermediate Bluegrass Pop and Rock from the 60s and beyond Fiddle Tunes Gospel Select Handpicked Jams featuring different songwriters and Gypsy Swing Django Reinhardt style.
Concerts and Community
The twice-monthly concerts at Black Forest Community Center feature outstanding national and regional musicians in an intimate log-cabin setting. The Black Rose Stomp a rousing sustained floor-shaking roar of approval is a beloved tradition when performers deliver exceptional music. All jam levels welcome from beginner to advanced.
