Established in 1963 Adair's Saloon represents Deep Ellum's authentic honky tonk heritage. For over 60 years this dive bar has served as Deep Ellum's outpost for what truly makes country music country - celebrating outlaw country roots in an unpretentious atmosphere where the music and the burgers are legendary.
The Music
Adair's features live country music six nights a week (Tuesday-Sunday) with Wednesdays reserved for a regular performer. The venue attracts frequent guest musicians representing the best of outlaw country from North Texas and around the nation. Named Best Country Bar by Dallas Observer in 2024 the venue maintains its commitment to authentic country music without the polish of modern Nashville.
The Tuesday night Songwriters Social hosted by Justin Pickard (with Jacob Zazz and Shana Faulhaber) has become a fixture of Dallas's open mic scene running for over a year. Starting at 9 PM this weekly gathering welcomes songwriters of all genres though country naturally predominates given the venue's character. With happy hour all day Tuesdays you can enjoy hot wings and the cheeseburger special while listening to tunes.
The Dive Bar Experience
Adair's embraces its dive bar character with pride. The walls are covered with signatures from decades of patrons creating a living archive of everyone who's passed through. The space feels like a classic American bar untouched by Deep Ellum's gentrification - sticky surfaces weathered wood and all the charm that comes with authentic age.
The venue is famous for its legendary burgers considered by many the best bar burgers in Deep Ellum if not all of DFW. The kitchen stays open until 1:30 AM nightly serving burgers sandwiches and wings at surprisingly reasonable prices. It's the perfect late-night food to accompany the music.
Atmosphere & Amenities
Beyond music Adair's offers shuffleboard Golden Tee arcade game and space for country dancing. The vibe is pure honky tonk - unpretentious welcoming and focused on good times. This is where regulars come to drink dance and listen to real country music.
The venue welcomes under-21 patrons until 9 PM when it becomes 21+ only. This early family-friendly period allows younger music fans and performers access before transitioning to the late-night bar scene.
